OBJECTIVE ​
Recognizing the importance of promoting artistic expression and community engagement among students, Chelsea EDC partnered with Sovereign Ave School to have their students participate in a beautification drawing contest. The project aims to teach the students the importance of beautifying the neighborhood that they live in through artwork.

EVENT SUMMARY:

Chelsea EDC selected a quote this year to be “We are blooming into a beautiful neighborhood,” which resonates with this year’s beautification effort with the planter boxes in the business district. A panel of judges, including representatives from Chelsea EDC and the school, evaluated the drawings based on creativity, originality, and interpretation of the quote.

​Winners were recognized at school, with the first-place winner getting their drawing printed on a t-shirt for their homeroom class, an art kit, and a scholarship to attend Union Arts Hall classes. The second-place winner received Chelsea EDC Beautification shirts and an art kit.
